ASLPG2 Presidency Candidacy Program

The PG2 General Assembly on April 21st will mark a turning point in the history of our ASL. For the first time in 20 years, there will be several candidates for the post of President of the Association. Each is to present their own views, bound  to be diverse,  particularly on the matter of the defense and protection of our members’ interests and the waterways. Here is my pledge:

Transform the Association (ASL) : The ASL must adapt its way of doing business to face new challenges more effectively. These include: 1) new mooring contracts, 2) the announced works projects, 3) and the protection of our residential properties and community rights. At the same time, we need to develop clear and more effective ways to communicate with all property owners so they can be more actively involved and active in decision making.

As president, I will:

• move to amend the ASL governing laws to strengthen the role of property owners in decision-making,

• enable better communications up and down the line, and

• allow a better distribution of representatives among various parts of PG2

Refocus the ASL on its Main Mission :

• manage and defend the community’s property, insure a proper budget management while prioritizing the community of residents, our safety, the management of our architectural heritage, and the protection of our way of living and the environment,

• establish synergy and strengthen collaboration and mutual understanding across all ASLs of Port Grimaud 1, 2 and 3.

Improve Involvement and Communications, by :

• establishing regular, transparent and clear communications with all property owners

• ensuring financial transparency

• establishing a consultations process with property owners on issues key to our community

• being aware of the different needs of different parts of PG2

• interacting effectively with residents' associations and think tanks to understand and meet the needs of all residents and the community as a whole

Mobilize Collective Brain Power : The public consultation phase last fall has demonstrated great brain power and solidarity. Now is the time to exploit such expertise and good will for the good of our community.

Clarify and Summarize the Status of Judicial Actions : It is imperative to conduct a complete review of such actions within two months of the General Assembly to define a clear legal strategy and have it validated by property owners.

If you agree with this pledge and wish to entrust me with such mission, I will be pleased and honored, as a volunteer,  to devote my professional expertise to serve Port Grimaud and its community.  I pledge to act upon those actions swiftly and sustainably.

Declaration of no conflict of interest : I certify that I have no personal or professional conflicts of interest, including no elected office, no personal or elective relationships with the municipality, and no involvement with companies with ASLPG2 contracts.

Don't forget to give your mandate to vote to someone you trust. If you cannot attend the  General Assembly  meeting in person, I can provide a list of PG2 neighbors willing to represent you by proxy.
